Sennheiser’s RS130s are exceedingly lightweight at 9.8 ounces. These headphones are so incredibly comfy that in just a few moments, you will completely forget that you even have them on which, to me, is a very good cool thing because if you stand and move around, there’s no annoying wire to get tangled up. It doesn’t uncomfortably crush on any part of your noggin and the sound is exremely pristine. The headphone arrangement is really user-friendly due to its ‘easy recharge’ routine and intelligent auto-tuning.

The ear pads are made of delicate foam and are enshrouded in fabric. The headband gets a corresponding treatment with three such pads, between which are two metallic element strips that serve as the charging contacts when you perch the headphones on the base. Rechargeable batteries come with with the headphones and I was very happy to see that only two AAA size are needed. This surely helps with the weight of the headphones which should have a direct affect on comfort during long-term listening sessions.

For this test and review, a few of us viewed an older movie — THE GREAT ESCAPE. I just came about to have purchased it and guessed it would be a neat flick to test with the RS 130s and boy was I dead on target! In fact, watching THE GREAT ESCAPE with these Sennheiser headphones caused me to remember my Dad taking me to the movies when I was just a wee kid. The Great Escape was the first movie I ever attended in a movie theater and the memories of that motion picture run deep. Naturally, I’ve watched this movie plenty of times on television since I’ve become an adult but not one of those times watching the movie made me remember the time I first watched it with my Father.

Weird I know but I wholly attribute that to the sound of these wireless headphones. To put it quite simply, the sound is nothing short of IMPRESSIVE. And since I know this movie by heart and actually own the DVD we were watching, I even got up to go to the restroom and make some snacks for everyone with the RS130 earphones still on my head and in so doing, I could literally watch the movie in my mind’s eye. I have never gone through anything like this before.

About the only trivial problem I noticed was when I was running along a wall. This was the only time I sensed just a bit of static but it was never enough to take me outside of the movie even though I was no longer watching the movie.

The RS130 features Sennheiser’s own SRS Headphone virtual-surround-sound system which is compatible with two-channel audio sources. As I stated before, the RS 130s’ reception remained consistent throughout our home theatre cinema experience. Most of the ‘tolerable’ wireless headphone sets I’ve researched are priced over $500 and any anything less costly is almost always unusable. Thankfully, the Sennheiser RS130s are a solid compromise between price and quality. They won’t break the bank and allow you to truly relish your listening experience. There are a number of ways you can learn guitar scales but some of the major ones include the pentatonic scale and the major scale. The pentatonic scale is one of the most important lead guitar scales, since mastering the minor and major pentatonic scales covers virtually every playing situation you may encounter. In technical terms, a pentatonic scale is a musical scale that is made up of just five notes.

You can begin learning the minor pentatonic scale on a single string of the guitar. Pick a fret on that string and play the note. Now move up three frets and play the note that you land on. Move up two frets, play; move up another two frets and play. Move up another three frets and play. Finally, move up another two frets and play; this note should be the octave of the first note played.

Now once you’ve mastered this scale, you’re golden. You can use it to play the Minor Pentatonic anywhere on your axe. (that’s “guitar” for the uninitiated!). You will also use this pattern to play the major pentatonic scale, but will begin on the second note of the pattern. Now with the major scales, the only differences is you will be using all seven notes, vs just the five notes of the pentatonic scale. Just keep in mind that when playing major scales, you want to always keep your fretting fingers in the right position.

One idea for learning major scales is to play just three notes per string; and by doing this, you’ll increase the speed of your playing…. once you’ve mastered it. Lets begin with the sixth string. Now just use your first, third and fourth fingers for fretting and position them separated by one fret. Strum them downwards, then upwards and then down again. Repeat with the fifth string, but in the up direction. Now go down and up again.

When you move to the fourth string, shift your first finger one fret downwards but keep the other fingers in the same position; stay in the same position for the third string, then on the second string, shift again with the first finger moving one fret downward, the third finger two frets downward and the fourth finger one fret below that. Play and maintain the same position for the last string. Throughout, continue to alternate picking patterns.

If a doctor went to medical school and didn’t follow the formula as he should chances of passing will be slim to nothing. There’s a reason the system works like it does because it produces results. Starting with number ten on the list, this is a track from the hit sequel, Sex and the City 2 which was released right at the end of May. Usually any summer song that includes Ludacris is bound to be a hit. “Break Your Heart” was played on The Hills when Brody showed up at the club with a date in front of his ex-girlfriend Kristin. It’s played on the radio all the time because people like it so much. This helps explain it making the Top 10 list. Number 5 is definitely a favorite. “Cooler Than Me” by the handsome Mike Posner is great for summertime on the beach or riding with the top down. His unique sound and spicy lyrics brings a new attitude to any summer party or even a back to school bash. Usher and Will.I.Am team up for song #4. “OMG” is constantly being played over the radio and in the club. Usher, the R&B prince, has made his return with new tracks like “Lil Freak” and “There Goes My Baby” along with this one which talks about love-at-first-sight. The last time he came out with a major summer hit was “Yeah” in 2006.

As we reach the top of the list “Airplanes” by BOB featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore falls at #3. If you’ve ever wished for something to happen bad enough then you can relate to this track. It captures that essence brilliantly. The #2 song is “Getting Over You”. Together Willis and Fergie sound great on this inescapably catchy track which has summer fun written all over it. DJ Guetta has managed to mix his own twenty-first century sound with the best part of mid-90s club music. Finally, topping the list at numero uno is Katy Perry’s “California Gurls”. You can probably remember the first time you heard it. The song has quickly become the west coast anthem as Perry paints the picture of life on the beach in Cali. Lyrics like “daisy dukes with bikinis on top” describes the beach atmosphere in this 2010 summer hit. It’s definitely one you’ll want to jam on a sunny summery day.
