If you cannot use this technique then playing more complex techniques or faster pieces will prove more difficult for you. It is through alternate picking that you learn how to move more effectively between the up and down strokes on the guitar. Although learning this technique may take time you will be able to play them automatically and picking the strings becomes a lot quicker.

Tip 5 – You must dedicate time to learning the many different techniques associated with playing lead guitar, which means you need to learn how to play bends, slides, vibratos, hammer ons, pull offs and the other kinds of tricks that lead guitarist use. Learning these techniques will help to make your guitar playing more colorful and will help to make it more expressive.

Tip 6 – If you want to learn to play certain guitar solos then the first thing you will need to do is learn the scales and which you which have to play repeatedly. The most popular kinds of scales that guitarists will learn are the E Blues and pentatonic ones. Both of these can then act as a framework for your playing and will assist you with creating your own music as well.

The more time you spend on practicing a piece then you will find it much easier to remember and over time you will find them much easier to play.
